Live from McMurdo Station in Antarctica with Sarah Bouckoms

Sarah Bouckoms will be speaking about working for the United States Antarctic Program wintering over at McMurdo Station. She is the Assistant Supervisor at the Berg Field Center, the BFC. This work center is responsible for repairing and inventorying the gear that scientists will take out into the field to do their research. This included everything from pee bottles, tents, sleeping bags and first aid kits, plus much more. With her team they also help provide town with Survival Bags and Extreme Cold Weather gear. She will talk about what it is like living and working on the harshest contient. McMurdo station supports 150 souls over winter at 77 south where the sun sets from April to August. Sarah will be deployed from February till October so she will experience the 4 months of total darkness for her second winter with USAP.
