Virtual Tree Planting with Friends of the Rouge Watershed
April 22, 2021
10:00 am to 10:45 am EST
For the 51st Anniversary of Earth Day, join Thivyah and Jim of Friends of the Rouge Watershed (FRW) for a virtual tree planting to learn more about climate action, ecological restoration and the Rouge National Urban Park. Since 1991, FRW has coordinated over 65,000 youth and community volunteers in hands-on restoration projects with visible and lasting ecosystem, watershed and community benefits. These projects include planting nearly ¾ of a million native trees, shrubs and wildflowers; restoring 3.5 million square metres of forest, wetland and meadow habitat; and helping to create Rouge Park, Watershed, Oak Ridges Moraine and Greenbelt Plans.
