Shaina Sadai | Studying the Antarctic Ice Sheet

Shaina is a PhD Candidate at the Climate System Research Center in the Geosciences Department at UMass Amherst. She studies how climate change is affecting the Antarctic Ice Sheet and how changes in the ice sheet impact the oceans and the rest of the planet. The tools she uses are computer models of the Earth that can be used to look far into the future and see possibilities for how climate change will look at the end of the century and beyond. The most important part of her work is thinking about climate justice and trying to encourage people to take action to protect our Earth and everyone living in it.
