This year, the United Nations has announced the Decade of Ecosystem Restoration, 2021-2030. The goal is to stop degrading ecosystems and revive them before it is too late. Without increased efforts now, we are going to fail to achieve the goals we've set for ourselves as a global community. Among those goals, protecting life on land and in the water, ending hunger and poverty, and increasing gender equity are key to a sustainable and productive future. In this talk, James Herrera will discuss how the Duke Lemur Center is engaging with diverse actors in Madagascar to restore landscapes and improve livelihoods. By collaborating with Malagasy stakeholders, we are forging partnerships to achieve Sustainable Development Goals locally and conserve biodiversity.
