Live from Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean with Erden Eruc

We're connecting with Erden approximately 1,000 miles from Hawaii as he is rows his way towards Hong Kong, striving to become the first person to row across the Pacific Ocean north of the equator and to raise awareness about plastic pollution in our ocean. We're going to connect with Erden live from the Pacific Ocean via satellite phone on his tiny rowboat to see how things are going and for some Q&A action.

We'll have a special guest join us as well, NOAA Research Scientist Dr. Jay Barlow! Jay is the leader of the EEZ Marine Mammals and Acoustics Programme and a professor at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. He is using underwater acoustics to try and estimate numbers of beaked whales. Erden is collecting underwater recordings as he rows across the Pacific for Jay to study.
