Live from the EV Nautilus

Head on board Dr. Bob Ballard’s Exploration Vessel Nautilus as they explore and map the seafloor around the Hawaiian Islands. We have better maps of the Moon and Mars, then of our own ocean. The mapping on this expedition will contribute directly to filling mapping gaps in the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) southeast of Hawai’i, and also filling gaps in international waters during the mapping transit. This will be the first in a series of live events as the Nautilus takes part in a series of expedition in the Pacific between now and the end of December.

The Ocean Exploration Trust (OET) and the Nautilus Exploration Program aim to explore the ocean, seeking out new discoveries in the fields of geology, biology, maritime history, archaeology, and chemistry while pushing the boundaries of education, outreach, and technological innovation. The Nautilus is 68-meter ship on a mission to explore the never-before-explored areas of the ocean and seek out new discoveries and share them LIVE via www.nautiluslive.org.
