12:00 pm to 12:45 pm EST
Join Sunniva Sorby and Hilde Strom live from a remote trappers cabin called ‘Bamsebu’, in Svalbard, located 78’ north and 140 km from the nearest neighbour. They will spend 9 months overwintering in Svalbard, this is a historic expedition in that no women have over-wintered in Svalbard without men. Throughout their time there, they will be taking part in multiple citizen science experiments. Each month we have a couple live events with them, each being a different theme with a different scientist joining in with us. This month, the theme is technology, how it's being used to explore the Arctic as well as to conduct research in such a remote and potentially dangerous area. We'll have speaker from Iridium and Bombardier joining in.
