Travis Fischer | Astrophysicist

Travis is a native of Wisconsin, earning his undergraduate degree in Physics at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. He earned his Masters and Ph.D. in Astrophysics at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he studied the alignment of supermassive black holes with their host galaxies. He stayed at Georgia State University as a postdoctoral Research Associate before going to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) as a NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) Fellow. Currently, he is at GSFC as a Research Scientist through The Catholic University of America, studying the effects of supermassive black holes on their host galaxies using observations from the Hubble Space Telescope and preparing for observations from Hubble's successor, the James Webb Space Telescope.
