Hernani Oliveira | Tropical Bat Research

Hernani is a tropical conservation ecologist with fieldwork experience across different environments of the worldwide tropics, including the savannas and rainforests of Brazil (South America), the dry and rainforests of Costa Rica (Central America), the forests on the mountains of Cameroon (Africa), and the limestone forests on the island of Rota (Pacific). During these expeditions he hs tried to understand the response of animal communities and populations to natural and anthropogenic (human) changes on their environment. During this presentation, he will be talking about his fieldwork with the endangered and endemic Mariana fruit bats (Pteropus mariannus) and the remote islands where they occur.
