Hearts in the Ice | Climate Change

Join Sunniva Sorby and Hilde Strom live from a remote trappers cabin called ‘Bamsebu’, in Svalbard, located 78’ north and 140 km from the nearest neighbour. Each month we have an event with them, each being a different theme with a different scientist joining in with us. This month, the theme is climate change and we'll also be joined by Kim Holmen who is the international director of the Norwegian polar institute and has 30 years of field experience monitoring climate in Svalbard, Antarctica and Siberia.
Sunniva and Hilde will spend 9 months overwintering in Svalbard, this is a historic expedition in that no women have over-wintered in Svalbard without men. Throughout their time there, they will be taking part in multiple citizen science experiments.
