Explorer Classroom In The Field | Costa Rica

Join Expedition Leaders Paul Rose and Enric Sala, and their multi-national team aboard the MV Argo off the coast of the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica. The team will be using cutting edge technology like drop cams and submersibles, as well as good old fashioned diving, to explore this incredibly biodiverse region of the ocean. Meet Paul and members of the team in between dives to learn all about their adventures!
One of the major goals of the expedition is to support efforts to create a large (~18,000 km2) Marine Protected Area (MPA) off the Osa Peninsula, one of the most biologically rich places on earth. To this end, the team will conduct a research and filming expedition to document the unique and iconic biodiversity of the region. In addition, they will explore the deep-sea realm surrounds the Peninsula and offshore. Their advanced technologies will greatly improve our understanding of these largely unknown deep ecosystems.
