Joining us:
Patricia Hanley | Technician
Patricia works at the Gulf Fisheries Centre as an Aquatic Science technician. A large part of her job is to collect information on marine life and habitat that support important fisheries in the Southern Gulf of St. Lawrence. The projects she works on are mostly related to crustacean species, such as SCUBA diving to survey lobster populations.
Ryan Stanley | Research Scientist
Ryan’s research focuses on evaluating structure in marine systems. He uses technology to understand how groups of organisms are linked in a dynamic ocean. Currently he applies this research to help design and eventually monitor Marine Protected Areas in Atlantic Canada. His research program spans the nearshore to deep water and encompasses important topics like climate change.
Aaron Farkas | Hydrographer
Aaron works for the Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS), a division of the Dept. Fisheries and Oceans whose role is to chart Canadian waterways, in order to ensure commercial navigation and boating safety. He works to acquire depth data, detect hazards to navigation, measure water levels and produce marine charts.
